Remember Where We Are, 2025

The Kramdens’ eighth album wasn’t supposed to take this long. In fact, this album was almost ready to go at the beginning of 2020, to coincide with the band’s thirtieth anniversary. But March of that year changed everything, and with the very unexpected pause that impacted most of the world, Remember Where We Are got put on pause as well.

As shows and life in general came to a halt, the band didn’t stop writing and refining — reconsidering the songs and developing new ideas. And that yielded new material and new ways of looking at the songs that were already recorded. With music and much of life returning to something resembling what was left behind, the songs on Remember Where We Are also emerged – changed, revisited, and better for the time to mature.

Some of the songs on Remember Where We Are had seen the light of day prior to the album’s release. A live version of Nobody Knows was featured on the 2019 EP, along with an early version of (This is What We Call) Home. While a live, one-take video for Nobody Knows has earned the band over 5K views on YouTube, (This is What We Call) Home was picked up on national radio numerous times after the release of EP.

Live performances in the two years leading up to the release allowed the band to share some of the new songs in advance of the release, with Gone Too Soon and I Won’t Be A Better Man immediately gaining fan favourite status.

Rooted in the band’s signature blend of melodic rock and thoughtful lyricism, Remember Where We Are is a powerful reflection on memory, place, and resilience. The album channels both the personal and the universal, with songs that capture the emotional turbulence of the past few years while holding onto a spirit of hope and community.

Recorded and mixed by Steve Knox, and produced by the band, Remember Where We Are is The Kramdens’ most introspective and sonically rich collection to date.
